Nevertheless, a single fateful summer my cousin, Jeremy, bet me a very, really large sum of money that I could not complete the Utah Valley Marathon. He did not say I had to finish it inside a certain amount of time. No. He taunted me by saying I couldn’t even FINISH the marathon.

Certainly, in no way one to turn down a bet (or money) I took him up on it. And I’m so glad I did.After training for several months, the day of the race came. I’m not likely to lie to you; I still had my lingering doubts about marathons. In fact, my general strategy was to start off running slowly and then taper off. I figured as long as I finished the race I would be able to collect for the bet and the money and nevertheless have a scrap of dignity left to spare.

When the starting gun sounded everything changed.

It was so weird. It was like my inner competitive alter ego took over. I didn’t want that girl in the red jersey to beat me towards the finish line. Or that guy with the mismatched Asics shoes. I was on fire! There is just some thing about working with all those other people and having crowds of individuals cheering you on. It was an adrenaline rush!

There is just some thing about feeling like you were accomplishing something that truly mattered. There is something about getting in shape for a particular event like this. There is just something about running a marathon that resonated inside of me.

I was addicted.

I love marathons now.

Now, truth be told, whenever you run a marathon, you occasionally feel like you’re marching into battle. However, depending on how well you trained for this “battle” you are likely to feel like Napoleon or you are going to feel like Custard.

By the time I completed the race, I felt deeply and hygienically disturbed. But I also knew I had found a new passion in existence. It’s such a excellent feeling finding new types of exercise routines and ways to compete that you enjoy.

My goal now is to run in several marathons worldwide. I wish to run the marathon they maintain about the Great Wall of China. I want to take a boat to the Arctic Circle and run the marathon they hold up there within the snow. Then I wish to run the marathon they maintain at The Dead Sea. I want to run in the Boston Marathon. My appetite for marathons is insatiable.

Recovery = 90 minute @ 65%

Michael Bozina says “length helps with controlling curl and you must always have the right shampoo and styling products to suit your hair type”.

Profile: Not something we consider ourselves as we don’t have to look at this angle in the mirror! However you do need to think about this when thinking about the shape of a cut. A slightly saggy chin can be lifted with the right angle of tapering into the nape or exaggerate it! A fringe (bangs) cut bluntly into very long hair can look disconnected and “stuck on” if not used in combination with soft layering around the face.

Be Healthy Now

I see people walking around, huffing and puffing and generally just being fat. Now before I carry on with this article, I would like to make clear that the weight of a person is no indication of their character and personality. I mean there are some amazing fat people around. But most overweight people really want to be healthier, thinner, and more attractive. However, it is conveniently forgotten that the largest benefit to losing weight is you become healthier! Besides being much better to look at , I am going to give you some tips on how to lose weight so you can be healthy.

These tips are designed for fat people so you don’t have an let off not to do them. Oh yeah, they are also really obvious and uncomplicated. After all, Simplicity is Perfection.

 

1.       Change your Mind

The first thing you absolutely have to do is get your mind in the zone. If you are not super serious about losing weight then you never will.  You might as well just click X  .

You need to know that the secret to achieving anything is your outlook. Sit down and say to yourself: “Do I want to lose weight?” Don’t just answer yes automatically, alternatively only answer once you realize the implications and effort required to make it happen as well as the reasons you want to make it happen. Have a  cup of coffee  , go sit in the garden, do whatever you have to do to clear your head. Now ask yourself the same question. If you can’t fully commit to the concept of losing weight and being healthier, you will eternally be fat.

 

2.       Exercise

Yes I know you know. Exercise is single handedly the most effective way to lose weight. Have you ever seen a fat marathon runner, or tubby professional soccer  player? I thought not. Now I’m not saying you need to be a professional athlete, but I am saying that you HAVE to exercise. If you are an able person, you have no excuse. Quite frankly, it’s just pure laziness if you don’t exercise. So you are eager to get going then? Well, getting up and going for a 5 km run in your current state is  not going to help you  . First, start by small exercises that you can do at work:

  • Stairs instead of the elevator
  • Stretch every couple of hours
  • Park as far as fair from the entrance to your work

Once you get your muscles into the idea of moving , you can gradually begin implementing  more strenuous exercises – Regular jogging  (not on a treadmill, but outdoors), play a sport, gym, yoga  whatever. The list is endless – just make up your mind and stick  with it. Pick an exercise and routine you are likely to stick to; this is really important! And if you mention you don’t have the time, I say you are lying  to yourself and you can go be fat somewhere else. Gosh darn , being a soccer mom is tough ‘work.’

 

3.       Eat Right

Well, think what you like but I am fit and healthy and you are fat. I exercise and eat properly . I don’t eat like a bird and starve myself on  seeds   and cabbage. I enjoy excellent , filling meals and eat fast food too. Hell, even ice cream and  candy . I never weigh my food, never read the nutritional value sticker and I eat carbs, red meat and trans-fats. Yet I am still healthy and fit.

So what’s the big ‘secret’ – Moderation! You can  feast upon   whatever you want as long as you don’t gorge  yourself until you are fit to burst. I have fibre in my breakfast; eat fruit and vegetables occasionally and try not to have carbs after 7 (doesn’t always happen). Sure, there are some diets out there that will tell you how to shed the  pounds   quickly , but they forget to mention the harm  they are doing to your body. If you just try to maintain a balanced life style you will be healthy and thinner.

Remember to Imagine It, Practice It and you will Become It!
